Angélica Herrera Velásquez


Angélica has a law degree from Universidad Libre de Pereira, received a specialization degree in Administrative law from the Javeriana University School of Law and is a current candidate to obtain a master’s degree in Natural Resources from the Externado University School of Law.

Angélica has a practical experience of 9 years as an advisor in fields related to public law, especially administrative law, city-planning, environmental law and contract law. She has also practiced as a litigator before administrative courts and has advised several clients in the fields of logistics, transportation, maritime law and ports law. More specifically, Angélica has participated in the legal structuring of port concession agreements, in feasibility studies for logistic platforms, as well as in the analysis and proposal of legal reforms in the maritime, logistics and transportations sectors.

Angélica started her professional career in the Third Section of the State Council (Sección Tercera del Consejo de Estado), where as a clerk she worked in contract and tort law cases in which the State was a party. After her experience in the State Council, she was a junior associate in several law firms, where she advised companies in some of the most important administrative procedures in the construction and transportation sectors. Angélica was part of Guzmán Escobar & Asociados’ professional team, which recently joined Esguerra Asesores Jurídicos.
